Lana Martino-Smith @ The Troubadour

Gian Fiero Music Awards 2006

Gian Fiero of the Muse's Muse has announced his 2006 Muses's Muse Awards. The awards are drawn from Gian's annual list of CD reviews - in 2006 he received 440 CD submissions. Melissa won awards in 6 categories:

* Best Adult Contemporary CD (Female): "No More Mondays"

* Best Adult Contemporary Song: "Thinking You Over"

* Best Performance & Interpretation of a Cover Song: "Black Coffee/Brown Sugar"

* Best Rendition of a Cover Song: "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough"

Awards Nomination for "Rising Up"

Melissa's song "Rising Up" (from No More Mondays) has been nominated as a Top 20 Finalist in the Vocal Jazz Song category of the 2006 Just Plain Folks Music Awards. This year's awards received 350,000 song nominations from over 100 countries world-wide. Winners will be announced in November. "No More Mondays" - Digital Release @ iTunes

Melissa's debut album "No More Mondays" is now available for digital download at all twenty iTunes stores world-wide! Individual songs or the entire album can be downloaded.

A few tips for using iTunes:

1) You can access the the iTunes store here.

2) Type "Melissa Forbes" into the search box and Melissa's songs and album will appear.

3) If you are not already signed up to iTunes you will first need to download the software and then sign up - it is all very easy!

4) If you want to hear samples of all of Melissa's songs (samples = 2 minutes each), you can do so at Melissa's CD Baby profile here. You will then find all of these songs available for download at iTunes.

2006 International Online Music Awards

International Online Music Magazine, a Canadian-based online magazine promoting digitally distributed music, has announced the winners of the 2006 International Online Music Awards. Over 30,000 nominations from within the independent music industry were received for the world-wide event and results were announced on 25th December 2005. Melissa was awarded "Best Female Solo Artist" and received Top 5 nominations in five other categories:
